UEFA writes letter to FIFA demanding answers over Gianni Infantino's presidency and his relationship with Donald Trump
UEFA has sent FIFA an urgent letter demanding answers tied to Gianni Infantino’s presidency, asking for responses to 42 detailed questions within two weeks. The concerns were raised by European football leaders at a FIFA Council meeting in Zurich last Thursday, and UEFA is seeking transparency regarding Infantino’s dealings, including his relationship with Donald Trump. Written by UEFA secretary general Theodore Theodoridis and addressed to Mattias Grafstrom, the letter notes Infantino acknowledged mistakes during the meeting but, in UEFA’s view, the explanations did not satisfy “fundamental questions.” UEFA also requested an immediate audio recording of the council meeting. The questions cover 12 topics, including alleged conflicts of interest and the “FIFA Forward Enterprise” World Cup sell-off proposal, along with governance and document-release issues.
