United Airlines expands Starlink Wi-Fi rollout with first transatlantic widebody flight

United Airlines is expanding its Starlink Wi‑Fi rollout with its first transatlantic widebody customer flight equipped with the service. The milestone begins Monday as United Flight 14 departs Newark/New York for London aboard a Boeing 777‑200, accelerating connectivity for MileagePlus members. United expects nearly 60 widebody aircraft to have Starlink this year and aims to outfit its entire widebody fleet by next summer. The airline says more than 400 United planes already have Starlink, with expectations to reach close to 1,000 aircraft by year-end. Coverage is designed to extend over oceans, polar regions, and remote areas where traditional signals may be limited. Since launching last spring, United reports more than 18.6 million passengers carried on Starlink-equipped aircraft across over 311,000 flights, powering 9.9 million devices.
