United Airlines' New App Tool Lets Delayed Flyers Stand By For 3 Earlier Flights
xCruzo Brief
United Airlines has added a new mobile-app tool that lets delayed flyers “stand by” for as many as three earlier flights, giving them more control over rebooking during disruptions. The feature is aimed at the Labor Day travel surge, with United forecasting 3.4 million passengers. Through its ConnectionSaver system, customers rebooked to a later itinerary can request standby for earlier departures than the automated selection. United says its AI will not cancel or change the booking until it’s physically impossible to board the original connection, and it notifies travelers when making the link will be difficult.
