USS Abraham Lincoln reaches Thailand after 286 days at sea

The U.S. aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln arrived at Laem Chabang, Thailand, on September 2 after 286 days at sea, marking the ship’s first full port visit since the deployment began. The deployment included an extended period in the Middle East, where the carrier participated in combat operations during the war with Iran. Democrats said it set a record for the number of consecutive days a Navy carrier remained underway. Lincoln carries about 5,000 sailors and Marines and reached Thailand alongside other U.S. vessels, including the guided-missile destroyer USS Frank E. Petersen Jr. The five-day stop is intended for rest, recovery and logistics, and Thai authorities said it is not related to the Middle East conflict.
