Vietnam's SAGS secures United Airlines deal, eyes new growth cycle at Long Thanh int'l airport
Vietnam's Saigon Ground Services (SAGS) has signed new contracts with 12 airlines, including United Airlines. The announcements came at its annual shareholders meeting, where SAGS said it is entering a new growth cycle by diversifying its customer base. The deals cover Tan Son Nhat, Da Nang and Cam Ranh airports as Long Thanh International Airport nears opening. SAGS plans to invest about VND53 billion ($2 million) this year to prepare Long Thanh, deploying staff and equipment by September for trials. Long Thanh is slated to open in December 2026 and is designed to handle wide-body aircraft and long-haul international routes. In 2025, SAGS reported consolidated revenue of nearly VND1.545 trillion and after-tax profit of more than VND208 billion, signaling strong growth amid the expansion.
