xCruzo Brief
Newcastle Jets drew 1-1 with Macarthur on Saturday at home despite a brilliant early goal from Xavier Bertoncello. Newcastle controlled much of the match, but had to settle for a point after being caught on the counterattack when substitute Musa Ture scored in the 70th minute with his first touch. Jets coach Mark Milligan said it was a case of “three points lost” after missed chances. Newcastle had other near misses, including gilt-edge opportunities for Nikos Vergos and chances involving Julian Recchia and Joel Bertolissio, while James Delianov made a reflex save late to deny Ryan Fraser.
