Route development is driving multiple nonstop launches this week, with services chosen between July 14 and 21, according to the 216th weekly routes report. Qatar Airways resumed flights from Doha to Helsinki and Tokyo Haneda on July 15 after last operating those pairs in 2022 and 2024, respectively. Both routes operate daily and will coexist with Finnair and Japan Airlines, which sell them on Qatar’s behalf; for the upcoming winter, Doha will have two daily flights to Helsinki and four daily services to Tokyo (Haneda and Narita combined). In South America, American Airlines returned to Maracaibo on July 14 with daily Miami service using Envoy Air’s Embraer E175s. Dublin also welcomed its first Shanghai Pudong nonstop, starting July 20, with China Eastern flying A350-900 services three times weekly year-round.
