Lion Group said flights operated by Lion Air and Wings Air to and from Sentani Airport in Jayapura, Papua, were affected by thick haze. Reduced visibility near the airport led to cancellations and delays. In line with company policy, the airline group is offering passengers ticket refund options and the ability to reschedule to alternative dates. On October 13, 2026, Lion Group noted that haze restricts pilot visibility during critical landing and takeoff phases, making it harder for crews to see the runway and surrounding terrain. It also said delays on earlier legs can cascade into later flights as arrival times shift. Cancelled and delayed examples included Wings Air IW 1635 and Lion Air JT 984, among others.
