Why Every One Of Dubai's New 400 Airport Gates Will Fit An Airbus A380
Dubai World Central is being developed as a megahub engineered to accommodate the Airbus A380 and the next generation of widebody operations, a theme that anchors this expansion. The government has approved a 128 billion AED investment (about $34.85 billion) to redefine Al Maktoum International Airport. The project covers roughly 36,000 acres and features five parallel runways intended for high‑frequency heavy‑jet operations, plus a cargo network forecast to move 12 million tons annually. A four‑concourse layout will be joined by a high‑speed automated people mover with 14 stations to shuttle travelers among processing zones and boarding gates. When complete, the master plan envisions an annual passenger capacity of 260 million and a cargo throughput that would place the facility among the world's largest air gateways.
