Wife of man who died after turbulence sues airline

Linda Kitchen, 74, whose husband died after severe turbulence on a Singapore Airlines flight, has filed legal action against the airline seeking damages. Her lawyers say Geoff Kitchen, 73, was “fatally injured” when the London Heathrow-to-Singapore flight dropped about 6,000 feet (1,828 meters) in May 2024. The turbulence struck over Myanmar, and the aircraft diverted to Bangkok, Thailand, for an emergency landing. Kitchen says her husband fell on her as the plane dropped and a doctor began CPR onboard. She was hospitalized; she learned two days later that he had died. Proceedings are now underway at the High Court for specialist support related to her injuries.
