With another trade and 19 more releases, Patriots get down to 53 players

The New England Patriots finalized their initial 53-man roster on Sunday after releasing 18 players and trading for one on Saturday, then cutting 19 more on Sunday. The team also placed swing tackle Marcus Bryant on injured reserve with a designation to return and completed another trade. New England kept eight drafted and three undrafted rookies, with only one of nine draft picks missing the cut. Among the drafted rookies making the roster were tackles Caleb Lomu (first round) and Dametrious Crownover (sixth), and edge rushers Gabe Jacas (second) and Quintayvious Hutchins (seventh), plus Eli Raridon, Karon Prunty, Namdi Obiazor and Behren Morton. Undrafted rookies Tanner Arkin, Channing Canada and Khalil Jacobs also made it. The Patriots traded for Cardinals running back Corey Kiner and Vikings offensive tackle Walter Rouse.
