Alan Liere's hunting and fishing report for June 18
Alan Liere’s June 18 hunting and fishing report highlights prime conditions across the region as the North Fork Coeur d'Alene River system remains at low water, offering open access while the window may close soon. Hatches include pale morning dun mayflies, yellow sallies, caddis, drakes, and golden stones, with ants and beetles productive in lower stretches; the St. Joe River is described as prime and river levels are below seasonal averages. Hoodoo Pass still carries about four feet of snow atop its summit, and access to the lower North Fork Clearwater and Kelly Creek via Pierce, Idaho is available, though the road to the upper North Fork Clearwater has not been cleared of downed trees or debris. Hangman Creek sediment issues have improved in the lower river.
