Bayern Munich beat K League 1 side Jeju SK 2-1 in a preseason friendly on Monday in Seogwipo, Jeju, with Kim Min-jae captaining the German club before being substituted in the 37th minute. The game at Jeju World Cup Stadium, part of the Audi Football Summit series, was tied closely to off-field ties between Bayern, Jeju and Los Angeles FC known in Korean media as the “Red & Gold partnership.” Bayern scored through Filipe Chavez (11th), Jeju equalized via Lee Chang-min (15th) after a rainbow flick by Matheus Aias, and Bayern won on a Bastian Assomo finish in first-half stoppage time.
