Bob Iger, Josh Kushner to buy Lakers for $12 billion, ESPN reports

ESPN reports that the Los Angeles Lakers are being sold for more than $12 billion to American businessmen Josh Kushner and Bob Iger, a record-breaking price. Multiple sources told ESPN that the duo previously worked on expansion efforts in Las Vegas, but pivoted to make a bid for the team currently controlled by Mark Walter. Walter bought the controlling interest from the Buss family last year, valuing the franchise at about $10 billion. Walter became majority owner after his bid was approved unanimously by the NBA Board of Governors in October. Kushner and Iger said they want to build on the leadership of Jerry and Jeanie Buss and compete at the highest level.
