Brim Explorer's new trimarans named Brask and Bram | Brim Explorer

Brim Explorer has named two new fully electric, high-speed trimarans: MS Brask and MS Bram. Norwegian-built and scheduled for launch in spring 2027, the vessels will be the company’s sixth and seventh ships. Each is designed to cover a 100-nautical-mile range (nearly 200 km) at 20 knots while carrying up to 180 passengers. Company leaders say the ships were developed from the ground up for electric propulsion, using Brim Explorer’s “electric by design” approach via its in-house Brim Tech division and thousands of hours of operating experience from its five existing vessels. The trimarans are being built by Herde Kompositt in Hardanger and outfitted by Horten Skipsreparasjoner, with hulls from Wind Naval Architects. The investment is about NOK 200 million.
