Broncos LB Red Murdock will be honored as 'Mr. Irrelevant' in Newport Beach

Red Murdock, the Buffalo linebacker drafted by the Denver Broncos with the 257th overall pick in April, will be honored as 'Mr. Irrelevant' during Irrelevant Week in Newport Beach, California. Denver selected him for only the second time in franchise history; first was Chad Kelly in 2017. The celebration includes surfing, a Los Angeles Angels game, a Disneyland visit, sailing, and the Lowsman Trophy, plus a letter from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. Murdock, who admits he cannot swim, will participate in shallow-water surfing lessons. His trip follows mandatory minicamp and runs June 24–28. The event week marks a long-standing NFL draft tradition.
