Chancellor John Healey's Budget to include £15m to tackle misogyny

Chancellor John Healey pledged to include £15m over three years for a fund aimed at tackling misogyny in schools, workplaces and communities. The government says the money will support schemes such as mentoring for young people, workplace training and communications campaigns focused on improving women and girls’ safety. Speaking ahead of his first Budget, Healey said every woman and girl should feel safe and respected in school, at work and in their communities. Conservative shadow minister Joy Morrissey criticized the plan as a “total waste,” while the expected confirmation is tied to a national taskforce chaired by Women and Equalities Minister Bridget Phillipson.
