Christmas all year: Holiday pop-up shop celebrates 10 years in business
The Whitingham Vermont Holiday Pop-up Shop is set to mark its 10th year in business in November, featuring products from 11 local vendors. Located at 6677 Vermont Route 100, the shop keeps an irregular schedule and sells mainly antiques, collectibles, and handmade crafts. Organizer and vendor Darlene Betit, 61, says sales increased 30% to 33% every year, including during Covid, and she sells vintage glassware, her own ceramics, and picture frames made from wood repurposed from old barns. The building has long served as a commerce hub, and Betit’s connection dates back to 2000 when she became postmaster for the Zip Code 05361 outpost and met the landlord. The property also includes rental income from two upstairs apartments and an electrical contractor. The report also describes past operation of Whitingham Antiques & Collectibles by Cynthia Musto.
