Fishing Hotspots: Canyon Ferry, Hauser, and Holter Reservoirs

Fishing hotspots across Montana’s Canyon Ferry, Hauser, and Holter reservoirs are reporting strong weekend action for multiple species. On Canyon Ferry, walleye fishing is improving around Ponds 3 and 4, including the river mouth in 8–12 feet of water, using bottom bouncers with spinner blades or slow death rigs in purple, pink, orange, or red. Anglers are also finding walleye near the Silos and north in about 20 feet, while rainbows are being caught on trolling patterns off Black Sandy and around York Bridge. Hauser and Holter are likewise seeing productive trout and walleye techniques, and kokanee are reported around 50 feet deep on Holter. Montana FWP’s local reports name Troy Humphrey and Chris Hurley.
