Colorado, Deion Sanders Help Georgia Tech Reach Mark Not Seen in 20 Years

Colorado’s opener at Georgia Tech ended up drawing far more attention than expected, turning into a sold-out home opener for the Yellow Jackets for the first time in 20 years. The game, played at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta on the primetime Sept. 3 slate, came after Colorado had fallen to a 3-9 record the previous season. Georgia Tech coach Brent Key said before kickoff that Deion Sanders’ return would be “a big deal” for Atlanta, citing Sanders’ celebrity status and Georgia ties. The crowd was boosted by family and coaching networks from both states, including Buffalo QB Julian Lewis and left tackle Bo Hughley.
