Commanders' worst-case scenario against 49ers in Week 6

A Washington Commanders sports talk host floated a “worst-case scenario” as the team heads into Week 6 facing the undefeated 5-0 San Francisco 49ers. The speculation centers on coach Dan Quinn’s potential dismissal next week. After a sequence that left Washington at 1-3-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the NFC East, including a missed chance with a 42-yard field-goal attempt, the pressure on Quinn has intensified. Chris Russell of The Team 980 argued the worst outcome would be a blowout on Monday night and owner Josh Harris choosing not to make a move. Russell noted Quinn’s reliance on two rookie coordinators—David Blough and Daronte Jones—who have struggled, and said neither would be ready for an interim head-coach role if Quinn were fired. Russell suggested Harris might wait until the season ends if things collapse, to avoid the uncertainty over who could lead immediately.
