Cristiano Ronaldo: Portugal boss Jorge Jesus denies rift with captain

Portugal coach Jorge Jesus denied any rift with captain Cristiano Ronaldo after reports claimed the Al-Nassr forward refused to train. Ronaldo did not play in Portugal’s 2-1 win over Norway in Oslo on Sunday and also skipped the usual visit to fans after the final whistle, heading straight to the dressing room instead. Speaking ahead of the Nations League match against Denmark on Thursday, Jesus said there was “no incident” and that he told Ronaldo beforehand he would not start, though he might be used later. Jesus added Ronaldo did individual “mobility” and strengthening work on Tuesday and would train normally on Wednesday.
