Dead as Coast Guard suspends search for missing 3rd boater off Massachusetts

The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search for a third boater missing off the Massachusetts coast. In a statement Sunday, Capt. Jamie Frederick of Coast Guard Sector Boston said the decision was not made lightly, offering condolences to the family of those affected and thanking local, state and federal partners. The service received a report of a recreational vessel maneuvering in slow circles with no one seen aboard south of Graves Beach near Manchester-by-the-Sea on Saturday afternoon. A distress broadcast led Coast Guard Station Gloucester to find the boat and a dog. Two people were recovered from the water; one died after being taken to hospital. The third remains missing.
