Final Steelers injury report ahead of Week 2 game vs. Patriots
The Pittsburgh Steelers ruled out wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and cornerback Joey Porter Jr. for Week 2 against the New England Patriots, tightening depth concerns across the offense and secondary. Pittman was downgraded Saturday after a foot injury limited him to limited participation earlier in the week; he missed practices Thursday and Friday and was listed questionable before being ruled out. Porter, dealing with a back issue, will miss his second straight game after practicing limited most of the week. Left tackle Troy Fautanu remains questionable with an ankle injury after improving from no practice Wednesday to limited Thursday and full participation during Friday’s walkthrough. With Pittman out, DK Metcalf should become the focal target. If Porter sits again, Asante Samuel Jr. is set to start outside.
