xCruzo Brief
Finland has unveiled its updated maternity package—often called the “baby box”—with more items than last year. Kela, the Finnish Social Insurance Institution, began distribution on Wednesday. This year’s grant package contains 52 products, up from 38 in the previous version, after the maternity grant increased from 170 to 210 euros. The box continues to include clothing, accessories and essentials, such as muslin cloths, a blanket, a sleeping bag, a book, nail scissors and a toothbrush. Lubricant and a pack of condoms returned as well. The package, designed by illustrator Eveliina Muotkavaara, features a peach-colored, space-themed pattern.
