A fishing charter off Florida’s panhandle made an unexpected discovery Saturday: a U.S. military drone believed to be a clone of Iran’s Shahed-136. Hot Spots Charters, based in Pensacola, posted photos on Facebook showing the drone among the boat’s catch, including an image in which it appeared to fill the bow section. The find was reportedly near Eglin Air Force Base, home to the Air Force’s 96th Test Wing. The Air Force said a drone was missing from its inventory, confirming the test article “went down” without specifying its type. The War Zone cited a spokesperson as saying the test had been underway. The drone appeared to be an FLM 136 / LUCAS clone made by Arizona-based Spektreworks.
