Florida sales tax holiday on outdoor equipment runs through December 31

Florida’s “Second Amendment” sales tax holiday for outdoor equipment is back for a second year and runs through December 31. The state says eligible purchases include firearms, ammunition, and a broad range of hunting, fishing and camping gear, alongside firearm accessories covered by a separate sales tax exemption. For fishing bait and tackle, the price threshold is doubled to $10 per item or $20 for multiple items sold together. The state expects about $40 million in consumer savings this year, compared with $45 million in tax relief during the inaugural holiday. Information is available via the Florida Department of Revenue.
