Free Dungeons and Dragons Mapmaking Tool Just Added 800+ New Images
Dungeon Scrawl’s latest update adds more than 800 new images to its browser-based mapmaking tool, expanding a free, login-free option used by many D&D DMs. The assets are accessible without a login and are also integrated into Roll20, one of the platform’s most popular virtual tabletops. The new images come from Tom Cartos and are organized into groups such as Trees, Camp, Nature, and Terrain; Ships, Boats, and Fishing; Military, Weapons, and Siege; Market, Shops, and Goods; Magic, Arcane, and Religion; Furniture & Interiors; Food, Drink, & Tavern; Farming, Crafting, & Structures; Dungeon, Death, and Torture. The update also adds depth by supporting shadows, letting users adjust offset coordinates, color, opacity, and blend mode in the Layer Settings panel.
To access them, open the Images panel, choose Free Images, or search for specific items. All new assets come from Tom Cartos, a recognized name in TTRPG cartography, who also offers more than 300 map and token packs on the Roll20 Marketplace. Dungeon Scrawl is available now in-browser and through Roll20, providing a free, accessible option for mapmakers and players alike.
