FWP Helena Area Reservoirs Fishing Report 7.27.26

The latest fishing report for Canyon Ferry highlights very good walleye action between the Silos and Pond 4, including the river mouth in 10 to 15 feet of water. It recommends trying White Earth to Gull Island, Hellgate and Confederate areas in 20 to 30 feet using bottom bouncers with slow-death rigs or worm harnesses, along with colored jigs and crankbaits. Rainbow fishing has slowed as fish move deeper, though some are still caught with walleye gear and lures in traditional spots and around the north end near Hellgate, Cemetery Island and the west shore. Several anglers report causeway arm and bridge walleyes.
