Ukraine’s General Staff reported on Oct. 25 that Russia has lost 1,578,450 troops since the full-scale invasion began on Feb. 24, 2022. The figure includes 1,850 Russian casualties over the previous day. The same update also put cumulative Russian losses at 12,447 tanks, 25,605 armored combat vehicles, 166,918 vehicles and fuel tanks, 51,614 artillery systems, 2,237 multiple-launch rocket systems, and 449 aircraft, among other categories. CSIS also suggested Ukraine likely suffered 500,000–600,000 casualties between Feb. 2022 and Dec. 2025.
