Grading Minnesota's 2026 transfer portal class: Four major hits headline the group

Minnesota’s 2026 transfer portal class added 19 players last offseason, and with six games of performance data available, the ranking breaks the group into tiers by impact. The top tier highlights four “transfer portal home runs”: Noah Jennings (WR, Cincinnati), Aydan West (CB, Michigan State), TJ Bush Jr. (OLB, Cal), and TJ Thomas (RB, Elon). Jennings is second on the team with 29 catches for 390 yards; West is described as an upgrade at CB2; Bush has 12 QB pressures; and Thomas leads with 413 scrimmage yards. A second tier includes four players—Naquan Crowder, Bennett Warren, Mekhai Smith, and Kaden Helms—who have logged at least 75 snaps, with some production gaps. Other contributors and non-factors follow, while the notes include injuries for Elisha West and Michael Merdinger.
