Harborough holiday village plans receive more than 300 objections
Plans for a holiday village on Langborrow Farm in rural Leicestershire have attracted more than 300 objections, with Harborough District Council’s portal showing 320 complaints. The proposal would create up to 45 holiday lodges, a gatehouse, bike rental and shop, plus a café/restaurant, indoor and outdoor leisure facilities, and a new access from and to Oakham Road, about one-and-a-half miles east of Tilton on the Hill. Applicant Brayden Cooper described the project as a “low-density eco-resort” rather than a high-intensity events venue. Residents cited traffic, safety on rural lanes, lack of bus services or cycle lanes, and potential harm to wildlife near the Tilton Railway Cutting SSSI. Cooper said the layout is designed to minimize noise and relies on controls such as limited outdoor activity hours and no amplified music.
