xCruzo Brief
Greek officials have signed a €23.8 million deal to build seven new high-speed patrol boats for the Hellenic Coast Guard entirely in Greece. Maritime and Insular Policy Minister Vassilis Kikilias approved the contract, covering MAGNAR 1950-class vessels built at VIKING LIFE-SAVING EQUIPMENT HELLAS facilities in Thebes. Each boat will be 21.29 metres long, with speeds of at least 50 knots and range of at least 320 nautical miles. A six-person crew will support at least 30 passengers, including modern navigation, communications and search-and-rescue equipment. Deliveries are planned one after another over six to 12 months, with an option for up to seven more identical boats.
