Historic 17-acre Bay Area waterfront property with restaurants, post office, and boatworks hits the market
A historic, nearly 17-acre waterfront property on Tomales Bay in the unincorporated community of Marshall has hit the market for the first time in one listing at $13 million. The site spans four parcels along Highway 1 on Marin County’s eastern shore and includes 18 existing buildings, a 2,500-foot stretch of shoreline, the Marshall Boat Yard, and the Marshall U.S. Post Office, according to brokers marketing it as a rare opportunity for a new owner to guide the area’s commercial core. Tenants include the Point Reyes Oyster Company and the Marshall Store, noted by The New York Times as a top 50 U.S. restaurant in October 2021. The property currently generates less than $400,000 annually in operating revenue, with about $147,000 in net income, brokers said. Three parcels are zoned for village commercial-residential use, while one wrapping around the post office is zoned for agricultural use.
