How the Tennessee Titans' defense paid tribute to Jeffery Simmons vs Bengals
The Tennessee Titans’ defense is honoring defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons after his trade to the Chicago Bears on Oct. 29. In the Titans’ Nov. 1 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, multiple defenders wore red sleeves under their jerseys, matching the sleeves Simmons wore during his eight seasons in Tennessee. Defensive ends John Franklin-Myers and Jacob Martin, defensive tackle Solomon Thomas, and defensive back Alontae Taylor were among those seen wearing them. Simmons has said he wore the red sleeves so his daughter could identify him on the field during games. The Bears acquired Simmons for three draft picks: a 2027 first-rounder, a 2027 fourth-rounder, and a 2028 first-rounder, plus they also received the Titans’ 2028 fifth-round pick. Simmons, 29, is expected to debut Nov. 2 vs. the Seattle Seahawks.
