Hunter doesn't even like fall turkey hunting that much, why does he keep doing it?

Maine’s turkey hunting has shifted dramatically since turkeys were reintroduced in the mid-1970s, with the modern spring season initially limited to York County and just 500 permits issued by lottery. That system changed in 2005 when the Legislature ended the draw and every applicant began receiving a permit. Maine later opened a fall turkey season in selected wildlife management districts in 2002, gradually expanding districts and adjusting rules until the separate fall license was eliminated. This year’s fall season runs Sept. 14 through Nov. 7, with only WMDs 1, 2, 4, 5 and 9 remaining closed and bag limits varying by district.
