Hurdler Minshull wants to turn bronze into gold

Jake Minshull aims to turn his World Relay bronze into gold this summer as he pursues further success at the Commonwealth Games and the European Championships. The 21-year-old Coventry athlete trains with Godiva and studies in Birmingham, and was part of Britain's mixed 4x400m relay team that won bronze in Botswana in May, finishing behind the United States and Jamaica and ahead of Kenya. The result marked his first senior appearance for Team GB, a moment he described as surreal as the crowd roared and he felt the GB kit buoying his performance. Minshull clocked 48.87 seconds for the 400m hurdles in Belgium last month, the second-fastest British time this season, and he is currently ranked 39th in the world. He credits his multi-event background with helping him handle the hurdles.
