It's a breakout season for women's sports bars in Boston
xCruzo Brief
A new wave of women-focused sports bars is taking hold in Boston, and one of the clearest examples is Title Town’s pop-up at 261, a seasonal bar inside Para Maria in the Envoy Hotel’s Seaport district. Named for Kathrine Switzer—who ran the Boston Marathon under bib number 261—the concept launched in March and features large photos of Boston sports icons, daily coverage on two TVs, and athlete meet-and-greets. Switzer has visited twice, including through her 261 Fearless nonprofit. Chef Tatiana Rosana conceived the idea. The bar is also performing financially, with a 47% year-over-year sales jump on April 9 and March-April profit gains reported during Fleet game nights.
