Kansas firefighters answer call for 'very sweet' pet iguana stuck in tree
xCruzo Brief
Firefighters in Spring Hill, Kansas, were called to rescue what they thought was a cat stuck in a tree, but they ultimately found a 3-foot pet iguana. Crews from Johnson County Consolidated Fire Department No. 1 were dispatched around 6 p.m. on Oct. 7 after an escaped iguana reportedly climbed into the branches. By the time responders located Tasslehoff—possibly named as a nod to actor David Hasselhoff and the tassel-like crest on its back—it had been missing for about a week. Its size and high position made the operation more difficult. Firefighters described the animal as “very sweet.” A ladder truck and a catch pole from Spring Hill Police helped secure it.
