Kikilias signs €23.8 million contract for seven new Hellenic Coast Guard patrol boats - ProtoThema English

Shipping and Island Policy Minister Vassilis Kikilias signed a €23.8 million contract for seven new high-speed patrol boats for the Hellenic Coast Guard during a ceremony at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Island Policy. The agreement covers seven MAGNAR 1950-class vessels, each 21.29 metres long, to be built in Greece by Viking Life-Saving Equipment Hellas. It also includes an option to order up to seven additional boats of the same type later. Kikilias said the deliveries, scheduled to run over six to 12 months, will boost operational capacity for border protection, fishing monitoring, anti-illegal activity and search-and-rescue missions.
