Laminators sold on Amazon recalled for fire risk

A Minnesota company is voluntarily recalling more than 50,000 Scotch-branded thermal laminators after reports of fires, U.S. regulators said Thursday. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported the laminators were sold on Amazon from June 2024 through September 2026 for $44 to $56. 3M received 63 reports of the devices smoking, melting and overheating, including five reports of laminators catching fire and one incident of minor property damage. The CPSC said there have been no reported injuries. Consumers are urged to stop using the product, unplug it, and request a refund through the agency’s recall website.
