Liverpool airport to raise drop-off charge to £7

Liverpool John Lennon Airport will increase the minimum express drop-off charge at its car park from £6 to £7 on 1 September. The higher fee will apply to stays of up to 10 minutes. The airport said the cost change is driven by rising business rates, higher energy charges, National Insurance and increases in the minimum wage. It also stressed that a separate car park for free drop-off and pick-up remains available for stays of up to 20 minutes. The airport maintained it expects no operational disruption if black cab drivers reduce shifts, and it will help passengers find alternatives if cab availability falls.
