Look inside massive new concourse at RSW in Fort Myers. What's new?
Southwest Florida International Airport is building a new Concourse E, a $1.2 billion project expected to open by late 2027 at RSW in Fort Myers. The expansion will add 14 gates, a new security checkpoint, and amenities including restaurants and a United Club lounge. Its design will reflect Southwest Florida with terrazzo flooring featuring local marine life and large glass walls to bring in natural light. The airport says it will be the largest public works project in Lee County’s history and will nearly double the size of the main terminal. During a media tour on Thursday, Oct. 29, officials said the project is about two years in, with roughly 12 to 14 months left. Hundreds of workers and thousands of supplies are involved, including fireproofing steel beams and finishing restrooms and suppression systems.
