Mark Walter reportedly looking to sell stake in F1 team after Lakers sale
xCruzo Brief
Mark Walter is reportedly looking to sell his stake in Cadillac’s Formula 1 team after a string of high-profile franchise sales. In August, Walter agreed to sell the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers for $12.5 billion, a North American professional sports record, roughly a year after taking majority ownership. After also selling his stake in Chelsea FC, Sportico reports Monday that Walter may be “shopping” his Cadillac F1 team with an asking price of at least $3 billion. Cadillac began its first F1 season in 2026 and has yet to score a point through 19 races. TWG and General Motors put up a $450 million dilution fee and additional investment of at least $1 billion, but Sportico estimates a roughly $400 million loss this year.
