Missing teen found adrift at sea on overturned boat

A 15-year-old teenager who went to sea in a fishing boat with two adult relatives was found alive clinging to the top of an overturned vessel off Alaska on Sept. 7, the U.S. Coast Guard said. The boat overturned two days earlier, and the Coast Guard reported the teen was the lone survivor. Two deceased people were recovered from the water and taken, unresponsive, along with the boy to Nome, Alaska. The 18-foot fishing vessel left Savoonga on St. Lawrence Island on Sept. 4 and was due back Sept. 6. Search efforts started Sept. 7 after weather prevented operations the night of Sept. 6.
