Ian Happ and Pedro Ramirez each hit grand slams as the Chicago Cubs broke open a tight game late and routed the host Seattle Mariners 19-2 on Sunday afternoon. The Cubs scored nine runs in the eighth inning, collected 17 hits, and snapped a three-game losing streak. Aaron Civale tossed four scoreless innings of relief. Happ homered in the first inning off Seattle starter Bryce Miller, who surrendered six runs largely behind seven walks despite allowing just two hits over 4 1/3 innings. Seattle’s Randy Arozarena also went deep, adding another first-inning shot after earlier walk-off and leadoff homers Saturday.
