Need to wait until next spring for opportunity to target freshly stocked trout
xCruzo Brief
Pennsylvania anglers don’t need to wait until spring for stocked trout. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission plans to stock about 114,700 hatchery-raised adult Rainbow, Brown, and Brook Trout in 117 stream sections and lakes through mid-December, replenishing popular spots as fall begins and supporting ice-fishing opportunities when conditions allow. In October alone, PFBC expects about 86,100 adult trout across 92 waters, including 52 lakes and 40 stream sections, with 16 Keystone Select Trout Waters under Delayed Harvest Artificial Lures Only rules. Additional stocking of roughly 28,600 trout is scheduled for November and December. Schedules can shift due to water temperatures and hatchery logistics.
