New rule could mean Ryanair passengers need to get to airport earlier
Ryanair passengers flying from Norwich Airport will need to arrive earlier under new luggage check-in rules. The airline will close all airport bag drop services 60 minutes before scheduled departure, replacing the current 40-minute cut-off. Ryanair said the change gives customers who check a bag more time to pass through airport security and passport control queues and to reach their departure gate before boarding begins, particularly during busy periods. Passengers who typically check luggage close to the deadline will need to adjust plans, because missing the cut-off could lead to being refused boarding. Ryanair estimates about 20% of its Norwich customers travel with checked luggage and will be affected. The airline serves Malta, Alicante, Faro and, recently, Málaga.
