Emergency Fund for Emergency Preparedness Support for NGOs in Sumy Region (Ukraine) - fundsforNGOs
The Emergency Fund provides up to UAH 300,000 to Ukrainian NGOs and charitable organizations operating in the Sumy region to strengthen emergency preparedness, operational continuity, and staff safety in high-risk humanitarian environments. The programme supports safety equipment, generators, IT infrastructure, psychological support, insurance, training, and advisory services designed to improve resilience and protection for humanitarian teams. It is implemented by Good Factory Ukraine with financial support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in cooperation with GIZ Ukraine under the EMPOWER project. The initiative emphasizes organizational readiness and protective measures over traditional project delivery, aiming to keep humanitarian operations functional during disruptions. By focusing on practical, need-based assistance, the fund seeks to sustain safety and responsiveness for communities affected by crises in Sumy. Local NGOs are critical for delivering aid, and strengthening their resilience helps ensure continuity of services despite infrastructure or security challenges. The programme coordinates with partners to deliver appropriate resources and guidance, reinforcing the protection of humanitarian staff in volatile settings. With EMPOWER backing, the Emergency Fund represents a focused mechanism to bolster frontline operations in Sumy.
