Tennessee's Free Fishing Day set for Saturday, June 6

Tennessee’s 2025 Bobby Wilson Free Fishing Day is set for Saturday, June 6, inviting all residents and visitors to fish without a license in public waters. A Free Fishing Week follows, allowing free fishing for children 15 and younger from June 6 through June 12. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency stocks several thousand pounds of fish each year to support a quality experience. The event honors Bobby Wilson, who retired in 2022 after more than 40 years with TWRA. Free Fishing Day applies to public waters, TWRA lakes, and state park facilities; some privately owned pay lakes may still charge.
